I'm posting snippets from a story this year for the Challenge.
You can enjoy them on their own, but if you'd like the whole tale, please start with A.
F IS FOR FENN
“She's
eight. She not only can do these things, she needs these
responsibilities.” Danielle let that sink in for a few seconds. “In
fact, Libby was the one that suggested it herself. She knows how to
work the dishwasher. Let her rinse the dishes and load it as you
throw in some laundry. Then the two of you can watch something
together or play a game. Talk, relax. I think she'll sleep better for
it.”
“She
really said that?” Erik leaned back and ran a hand through his
hair. When she nodded, he let out a little laugh. It was more than a bit sexy. “Well, I think we
can do that.”
“I also
have another suggestion.” The corners of her mouth quirked up. “One
just for you.”
Danielle,
Fenn warned.
“Of
course.” Erik shifted in his chair to face her fully.
Struck by
his masculine beauty again, she almost forgot to speak. She wet her lips.
“You need to get out and do something on your own. Something not
related to work or Libby.”
Oh be quiet Fenn! LOL I agree with Danielle, Erik needs to get out on his own ... or with her! ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, be quiet, Fenn! I'd like to hear what she suggests.
ReplyDeleteAmazing and Wonderful Post . . .
ReplyDeleteA delightful surprise.
Thank you.
Happy AtoZ!!!
-g-
I don't think Fenn's going to win this one!
ReplyDeleteI like Fenn! Good post.
ReplyDeleteOh, the tension builds! :D
ReplyDeleteFenn has to learn when to hold them and know when to fold them.
ReplyDeleteThe plot thickens! Love this.
ReplyDeleteA lovely sequel. -Belinda [A - Z participant].
ReplyDeleteNice seshual tension here.
ReplyDeleteWhen you said F is for Fenn, I couldn't help but think of Adventure Time!! Finn and Jake!
...
I realize I'm probably alone on this :)
I love the name Fenn. The warning has me curious...
ReplyDeleteWonder what Fenn's trying to warn against.
ReplyDeleteOh Fenn we love you but please be quiet! The tension mounts. :)
ReplyDeleteLove Fenn.
ReplyDeleteThings are getting very interesting....
Barbara
F is for Fiction, Freedom, and Flagman's Folly
The Daille-y News
Gee, I wonder where this is going...
ReplyDeleteInteresting dynamics among these three. What happens next?
ReplyDeleteI love the name, Fenn. What is the origin?
ReplyDeleteThank you all! Danielle is pleased for the support. She needs a night out too!
ReplyDeleteThis just keeps getting betterer and betterer.
ReplyDeleteSomething like me, I see her saying. Hehehe. Fenn won't be happy.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Fenn stands a chance on this one.
ReplyDeleteShannon at The Warrior Muse
haha poor fenn
ReplyDeleteI'm panting with approval. W00F! :-)
ReplyDeleteSome Dark Romantic
Haha I love Fenn but he does need to be quiet.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
hahaha...this was great, christine!!
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to kids, the trick is to let them do things when they want to...before their really old enough to do it well, then...when you want to it's less of a chore. Reading your story clip made me think of watching my DD YEARS ago loading the dishwasher..attempting, but she loved that she was involved. After all young kids are the height of the dishwasher...easier for them then us bending over, lol.
ReplyDeleteA-Z
I'm hooked!
ReplyDeleteConnie

ReplyDeleteA handsome piece of wordplay. Nicely done and so happy you shared it. Thank you. More, please....!
ReplyDeleteGreat snippet! Doesn't look like Danielle is allowing Fenn to be a mood-killer. :P
