Teaser Tuesday with The Hunger Games

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I'm finally reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It's awesome so far! Why didn't read this sooner?!
My teaser:
My slumbers are filled with disturbing dreams. The face of the redheaded girl intertwines with gory images from earlier Hunger Games, with my mother withdrawn and unreachable, with Prim emaciated and terrified. (page 86)

  6. "Do you recall the tale I told you of our first meeting, Imp?" Prince Oberyn asked, as the Bastard of Godsgrace knelt before him to fasten his greaves.

  13. Tara, no, I haven't seen them yet. If the movie sticks close to the book, it will be excellent!

  16. I've not been in a hurry to read this series, figuring I'd get to it eventually. But now that there are movie plans I'm going to have to get on this sooner rather than later, I guess...and I imagine that I'll also be saying, "Why didn't I read this sooner!?"
    ;o)

  17. M Pax, I'm happy you liked Game of Thrones. The rest of the books are equally as enthralling.

Sunny, that was the way it was with me! You won't be disappointed by them. I'm giving up writing time to read it. That's how good it is!

  20. Hi Christine, first time visitor and follower. Nice to meet you. This sounds like one of Charlie Brown's worst dreams. You know ... the redhead girl? ANd when have we ever seen his mother? Never. Talk about withdrawn and unreachable.

  21. Stephen, hehehe! You're right. Now I'm going to be imagining Charlie Brown in the Hunger Games!
