My little guy turned 21 months old yesterday.
Soon I'll have a two-year-old!
I'm afraid to blink lest he be gone off to university.
Yesterday, when I was feeling particularly awful, I had a coughing fit.
I was holding my son in one arm and rubbing my head and neck with my free hand.
He gave me a hug and said, "Is okay, mama. I love you."
The first time your child says "I love you" to you uncoached is the best feeling in the world.
Aww! That's just so cute and sweet. :)
ReplyDeleteHehe! Is it sad I keep track of my cat Romeo's age by what you say about Brandon's age?
Nah, Romeo is your baby. It will only be sad if you make a cake for his birthday and don't share it with me. ;)
DeleteChildren will give you the best and the worst feelings in the world, sometimes in the same instant. Don't blink. I promise you it goes all too fast.
ReplyDeleteSo true! It's amazing that such little beings can have such rule over our hearts.
DeleteOur little monster, er I mean *boy* is about the same age and when he stops running into things to give us a kiss.... well the day is made :)
ReplyDeletePS. Thanks for the return follow :)
I like it that the kisses are now closed mouth. The open mouthed kisses were very wet even though they were affectionate!
DeleteLove warm fuzzies from our kids :)
ReplyDeleteNo matter how bad I feel, he can always make me smile.
DeleteThat is an awesome feeling.
ReplyDeleteAlso (courtesy of Tasha's recommendation), we've decided to give you a Liebster Award from our blog: http://thinkingthroughourfingers.blogspot.com/2012/01/liebster-award.html
Thanks for your contribution to the writer's community! Feel free to pay it forward. :)
Thank you so much for the award. :)
DeleteAw, that's so sweet! :)
ReplyDeleteI just hope he's still that sweet in five or ten years!
DeleteMy oldest baby is graduated and working and saving for school. How did she get so old? How did I get so old? I must have blinked!
ReplyDeleteBlinking is dangerous!
DeleteIt definitely did!
ReplyDeleteHe is adorable. You should have another!
ReplyDeleteThat's what my mom keeps saying!
DeleteHe's adorbs. I know what you mean, though. The Girl starts kindergarten in August, and I'm both freaked out and melancholy at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI've been told the parents are more anxious when kids start school than the kids. Will it be full day kindergarten? I don't know what I'd do without my son around all day. Actually, yes, I know. I'd write. But you know what I mean! My son will start preschool this August and it's only two mornings a week. I'm anxious about it already.
DeleteCongrats Christine! That would melt my heart. You're so lucky! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm sure your nephew turns his smile on you and has you wrapped around his little finger. :)
DeleteOhh that is so sweet... I bet you felt better afterwards:)
ReplyDeleteI definitely did. Nowadays, he's yelling "NERDS!" all the time. My fault for teaching it to him and then laughing when he did it for the first time!
