I am a 2013 NaNoWriMo winner!

WOO-HOO!
I pushed myself the last few days before the American Thanksgiving and I made it!
My tenth year participating in NaNoWriMo and I did it.
Congratulations to all those who won too.

The story is nowhere near finished. I left it off right at the beginning of a fight scene. That just makes it easy for me to pick it back up. I love writing action! I suspect this book is going to be near 80,000 words. Maybe more. While I loved writing novellas, it feels good to be writing novel sized stories again.

For those of you still tapping away, you can do it! You still have two days. Write, write, write!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!

Friday Five for September 27, 2013

1. It's been a busy week. I'm all set for The 13th Floor Complete Collection blog tour. The book is already available on Amazon and Smashwords. It looks fantastic! Cherie Reich did an excellent job editing and formatting for me. We're making great progress with the print version. It'll definitely be ready for October 13th.

2. Click on over to Heather Musk's blog and read what she thought of the final novella in the 13th Floor series, THE GHOST. She'll be interviewing me on October 11th for my blog tour. Don't miss out!

3. I had a terrific time with Yolanda Renee on Monday. As promised, I used Random.org to pick a winner of an ecopy of MEMORIES OF MURDER. The winner is Catherine Stine! Congratulations, Catherine. I've already informed Yolanda that you were picked. Enjoy the book! Guess what? Yolanda is hosting me during my tour next month too. Join us on the 19th.

4. It's school picture day at my son's preschool. Last year I was the photographer's helper, and the boy refused to smile. This year, I won't be there, so hopefully he'll show them his cute dimples. It's been a long week with four days spent babysitting, a school board meeting, and an optometrist's appointment. Glasses have gotten so expensive!

5. Join me Monday for some creepiness. Julie Flanders' cover reveal for THE GHOSTS OF AQUINNAH and an announcement to give you the chills. In a good way!

Have a fantastic weekend!

The winner of the Gravity series cover reveal & Fearless news

The winner of the Gravity trilogy is

Arlee Bird

Congratulations!
Cherie will be in contact with you shortly.

In FEARLESS news, the Super Awesome Cherie has finished proofreading and formatting for me. I'll be looking over the documents a few more times and then I'll begin the adventure of learning how to load them up onto various sites. So exciting! It's looking very good that everything will be ready to go before the release date.

I have another stop to add to my blog tour. Tara Tyler has invited me to her blog on August 10th for a little chat. A magnificent way to end off my release week.

NaNoWriMo 2011 Winner

Woo-hoo! I'm still doing a happy dance even after the NaNoWriMo word verification tool didn't match the word count my word processor - Open Office - told me. In fact, it was over 1100 word difference. I went to verify my win earlier tonight and it came up a few hundred words short. I have over 51300 words written. It was frustrating, but I wrote just over 200 words and it was enough. NaNo told me I wrote -1100 words today, but I still have my win.

I see a few other winners out there. Congratulations to you! The rest of you warriors, keep going. There's still a few days left of the month. Push yourself. You'll be surprised at what you can accomplish. I believe in you.

I hope to finish the novel in a few weeks. Before Christmas at the latest. Then I'll let it sit for a while. I have two other novels I want to go through more revisions and submit before I start any editing with my NaNo novel. Revise, revise, revise. That will be my motto for the next four or more months.

Awards and Campaign Win

I received The Versatile Blogger Award and The Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award from Amy at The Ramblings of Amy!

Thank you! I'm always honored to receive awards like this.

Here are the rules for both awards:
1. Thank and link back to the person who gave you the award.
2. Share 7 random facts about yourself.
3. Pass the award on to 5 more blogger friends.
4. Contact and congratulate the blogs you're passing the award on to.

1. I was the worst vegetarian ever. I was one for 15 years. I like very few fruits and veggies. I don't like any sort of spice or even salt on my food. I don't like salad. I had to change my eating habits when I became pregnant.
2. I met my husband on the internet when it was still creepy to do so. We were just friends for a year until we met in person.
3. I'm eating animal cookies as I type this.
4. I think feet are ugly. Except cute baby feet.
5. I wrote several short stories as a child about the kids in our neighborhood called The Kingham Kids.
6. Being a stay-at-home mom is the hardest thing I've ever done, but totally worth it.
7. I'm telling myself that I won't watch Survivor, but I don't think I'm going to listen.

I'm passing these two awards on to:
Aubrie at Flutey Words...
Christine at Christine's Journey
 Manda at pepperwords

Along with these fine awards, I was notified that I'm one the Final 12 winners in Rachael Harrie's First Campaign Challenge. I'm blushing. I'm thrilled and honored. Wow. I'm stunned too. The Campaign has been a lot of fun so far. I know I say it a lot, but I really mean it. I've read many of the entries by other Campaigners and I'm impressed. So many talented writers out there. I raise my glass to all of you. Cheers!
