Finally! A Release date for Of Gods and Sorrow

Stopping the undead will seem like child's play when the Cult of Ammut comes calling.

Even after losing most of her adopted family, Erin Driscol continues to console clients at Putzkammer & Sons Funeral Home. Keeping the funeral business working smoothly is no longer the walk in the graveyard it used to be. Grieving demons are fighting in the halls. Eyeballs are showing up in teapots. And a so-called psychic and member of the Cult of Ammut claims Erin's boss Cort is a god. All Erin wants is a friend to lean on and a sense of normalcy. But as the cult kills people and repeatedly attacks the funeral home, she must stand strong or lose Cort to the Lake of Fire.

Coming November 13th.

Pre-order here!

Mark it to read on Goodreads.

I'm very excited to finally mark on the calendar a definite release date for my second book in my dark urban fantasy trilogy. I let it sit a while and received a ton of feedback from my awesome critique partners and beta readers. Revising and editing was tough, but that's a good thing. It means I made difficult choices and polished it to be the best story it can be.

I'll be releasing it exclusively on Amazon, and I'm in the process of moving Of Blood and Sorrow (Book #1) on there too. Soon they both will be available to read for free with Kindle Unlimited.

It's been three years since I released the first book. I had intended for it to be a stand-alone, but there was more of Erin's story to be told. And I think this second book is even better than the first!

Friday Five for May 15, 2015

1. Prepare for another dose of sexy geeks! Things are moving along with Ellora's Cave at a fast pace. I have a cover for Layers of Lace (Dice & Debauchery #2) and a release date for the third book, Masked Kiss. It's due out on June 26th.

2. I thought about doing a tour when the third book was released, but it's at the most inconvenient time of the year for me. So will it be bad to wait to do a tour until August? I don't know, but if I want to properly devote my time to it, that's what I'll have to do.

3. I'm also re-evaluating my writing goals for this year. I hoped to revise and publish my superhero novel, Super Famous, by October, but it doesn't look like I'll have the time to get to it until the fall. My new WIP is a great and slow beast. I'd hoped to finish the first draft by next week, but it is just beginning. Maybe I'll have it done in September.

4. One more week until school is out for the summer. Are there any other parents counting down and prepping themselves? I've got a visit with my family in Canada, day trips, YMCA day camp, and weekly park meet-ups with school friends all planned. Here's to an awesome summer!

5. Finally I wanted to give a huge thank you to Alex J. Cavanaugh for the You Rock Award. I love blogging because of our great community and Alex is a big part of it. Cheers to Alex and to all of you! Have a marvelous weekend.

Friday Five for August 16, 2013

1. Big week! I announced a change to the release date of the 13th Floor collection. I'm looking for people to help out with the cover reveal on Friday September 13th. I got an awesome response for hosts for my blog tour in October. Every weekday is filled up now. October is going to be a fantastic month!

2. Don't forget on Monday it's the August W4WS event! This is a great way for writers to help other writers. It's easy to do. As fast and simple as a tweet. This month we're featuring Carrie Butler and C. Lee McKenzie.

3. I have a special guest poster tomorrow. T.F. Walsh is going to be here with her CLOAKED IN FUR blog tour. Stop on by and chat about werewolves with us.

4. Sweet, sizzling, fiery, awkward, mind-blowing. We want to read your kissing scenes. Don't forget to join the MORE THAN JUST A KISS Blogfest! We're offering prizes for the best scenes. It's less than a month away now. Tell your friends! Shout it out to the world!

5. On Wednesday, my son had his preschool orientation. He was ready for me to leave so he could play all morning! His official first day will be Monday. He'll be going three mornings a week this year (M, W, F). His new teacher is very nice and is eager to have my smart little guy in her class. Did I mention he's only 3 1/4 and reading several words? Also, in a surprise move by his school's board (at least a surprise to me), they offered me a position. I'll be taking the open chair this year. It's weirding me out a bit. I never saw myself doing something like this even as a parent. Yet I really do love this preschool, and I'm happy to give my time to them. I agreed to help out some friends too. So on Tuesdays, I'll be picking one child up from her school and watching her for a little while, and on Thursdays, I'll be watching another little guy. They're my son's best girl and boy friends. I'm a bit stunned at how my schedule has filled up for this school year. What happened to the wonderfully quiet hermit life I dreamed of?!

Have a great weekend, folks!

New release date for the 13th Floor collection - request for hosts

As much as I hate pushing the date back, I'm rescheduling the release for the 13th Floor collection. It was originally scheduled for next month, but I'm giving myself another month to make it perfect. I want it to be the best it can be. (Pro of self-publishing: flexibility!)

On Friday September 13th, I will be revealing the cover to the collection. If anyone would like to be part of the cover reveal, please leave a comment below or email me. I will also be doing another giveaway. The lucky winners will receive the entire series of novellas in digital format.

I want to dedicate October to the 13th Floor series. This way, I won't be doing a one week tour and stacking the hosts. I'd like to do one host a day, maybe three a week (or more, depending on the response I receive). I'll have lots of excerpts, tidbits, and giveaways. I'll be giving away signed print copies of the collection along with the ebook. And I'll ship to anywhere in the world!

If you'd like to host me during October, please leave a comment or email me. If you'd like a specific date, please let me know as soon as possible.

As I worked on making the cover for the collection, I made a bunch of badges and banners for the series. I hope to have a lot more for October. Hosts can have their pick of something unique for their sites. Here's something to tease you with:

The Marquis release date and 13th Floor blog tours

First, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who participated in my cover reveal. I've gotten such excellent feedback on it. You all made the release a grand success!

I'm still in good shape for releasing The Marquis on December 13th. Just in time to buy as you're doing your holiday shopping! Yes, I'm going to say it's official.

1301 RELEASE DATE:
DECEMBER 13th

I'm setting up a week long blog tour for it running through December 13th - 20th. If you'd like to be a part of my tour, please email me at christinerains [dot] writer @ gmail [dot] com. Make sure you put "1301 blog tour" in the subject heading. If you want a specific date, please reply soon and let me know. I understand this is short notice. I have a bunch of posts scheduled on my blog into the new year already. I know how fast things build up.

 1301 BLOG TOUR:
DECEMBER 13th - 20th

If you cannot participate in this blog tour, and you still would like to help, have no fear! The 13th Floor series has six novellas. The Marquis is the first one. I'll be doing mini tours for each release, and a big one when I release the whole collection late next summer or autumn.

At the end of the December tour, I'll be revealing the cover for 1302 - The Alpha. The novella is written and I'm aiming to release it on January 13th. (A Sunday, I know, but I'd like to keep my release dates on the 13th of each month.) If you'd like to participate in The Alpha's cover reveal and/or mini tour, please email with "1302 reveal and/or tour" in the subject heading.

1302 COVER REVEAL:
DECEMBER 21st

1302 BLOG TOUR:
JANUARY 13th - 17th

Next we have 1303 - The Dragonslayer. A modern day dragonslayer, and oh by golly, wait until you see this cover! I want to release it on February 13th. Again, if you'd like to participate in The Dragonslayer's cover reveal and/or mini tour, please email with the appropriate subject heading.

1303 COVER REVEAL:
JANUARY 18th

1303 BLOG TOUR:
FEBRUARY 13th - 17th

I'm not going to set official dates for the rest of the series yet. I would like to have 1304 - The Harbinger out on March 13th. April will be too busy for me in real life, so the next two dates would be May 13th and June 13th. I'm giving myself some wiggle room with the dates, though. You never know what real life is going to throw at you.

Whew. I'm dizzy looking at all those dates, but it feels good to have them settled. I'm really excited about this series. I hope everyone else will love it as much as I do.

Fearless release date

AUGUST 7th!

Mark it on your calendars! Of course, I'll be reminding you. I've been making great progress this week on the revisions. I'm not changing much at all, but it needed cleaning up. A big thank you to Cherie Reich who's a superb editor. Tawa will be proud.

To celebrate the release of Fearless, I'll be hosting a "What was your childhood monster?" blogfest. I'll make a badge and set up a linky list very soon. (I'm still behind on everything. I don't work well in the heat. No air-conditioning yet.)

I will be offering Fearless for free everywhere. (Well, ninety-nine cents on Amazon until they price-match it!)

The official blurb:
Abby White was seven years old when she killed the monster under her bed. Now she slays creatures spawned by the fertile imaginations of children, and the number of these nightmares are on the rise. Neither she nor her guide - a stuffed hippo named Tawa - know why.
When she rescues Demetrius from an iron prison, he pledges his life to protect hers until he can return the favor. She doesn't want the help. And how can she concentrate on her job when the gorgeous wild fae throws himself in front of her during every fight? No matter how tempting, she can't take the time to lose herself to him.

To save the children and all she loves, Abby must be truly Fearless.
