Friday Five for March 18, 2016

1. I have my release date for Big Longing (Sasquatch Susies #2). April 1st. It's no joke! You can add it to read on Goodreads.

2. My little guy's spring break had a rough start but the week went wonderfully. He was sick on Monday, but then we had a lake day, a park day, and a movie day. Zootopia was darn good! Today my husband has off work. Family day!

3. Tomorrow is my monthly local critique group meeting. I need to finish critiquing the two short stories for it. I wrote a flash piece that is either brilliant or badly odd. We'll see what they think.

4. The only one not enjoying spring break is the cat. He does not like the change in routine and is on my lap any time I sit down since I've not been at home much this week. Even as I type this, he's curled up on my lap!

5. When the Wii tells you to wear the wrist strap, wear it. My poor little guy had a scare and a cry when the controller flew out of his hand and smashed our TV. There is an impact mark and fractures all along the bottom of our screen. This weekend, we'll be shopping for a deal on a new TV. Hopefully wearing green yesterday has brought us some luck!

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Sorry about the television! Bet he wears the wrist strap from now on. I'm sure you will insist he does.

  2. Sounds like a really nice spring break overall. Enjoy Family Day!

And I always wear the wrist strap. I'm paranoid that way. :)

  4. I seldom wear my wrist strap and have had a few close calls where the TV is concerned. You'd think that I'd learn, wouldn't you? I guess it'll take actually breaking the TV for me to change. :)

"either brilliant or badly odd" <---Love that. I just submitting pages for my next critique group meeting and am pretty nervous about it. May both groups find us brilliant!

    Enjoy your family day!

  7. It does sound like you've had a fun week, minus Brandon not feeling well for a bit and the TV incident. At least it just hit the TV and not somebody. I bet those things hurt.

  10. Oops about the Wii strap. That's why I always wore the strap when I played. I knew if I didn't, I'd break the TV.

  11. Wow, as soon as April 1st? How exciting! Glad your son ended up having a fantastic week, despite germs trying to muck it up initially. (It's never fun to be sick for a school holiday like that!) And best of luck with all the TV shopping. I've been on the hunt for one, too, since mine is currently dying on me!

  12. Thanks, everyone! We did find a really well priced Sony of the same size. It's amazing how thin TVs have gotten over the years.

  15. Oh dear. He'll learn his lesson about the wrist strap! I still remember the horror I felt when I was about 3 and pushed our telly right over onto its screen. My parents - unsurprisingly - also remember ;-)
