Teaser Tuesday with Revenge of the Witch

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This MG book was recommended to me by Clare Dugmore. She knows me so well. I love it so far! REVENGE OF THE WITCH is the first book in Joseph Delaney's dark fantasy series called the Wardstone Chronicles. A great young protagonist and some magnificent world building. So much to explore.

Here's your teaser:
What harm could it do just to give her three cakes? A bit of comfort from her family against the cold and damp, that's all it was. (page 144)

  1. Ooh, sounds like a great read! Will have to add it to my list, assuming it's not already on there - I lose track with my list being so long and all :)

  2. The title alone grabbed my attention

  3. I've been working for quite a while on a MG novel, and I'm always looking for good MG recommendations. Thanks!

  4. I haven't started this series even though I have all the books in my media center. It is so hard to catch up when I can't even keep up with all the great new YA books.

Come see my teasers for Charmed Vengeance by Suzanne Lazear and Saving Paradise by Mike Bond. Happy reading!

  5. And yet we already know those three cakes are going to cause some serious trouble, don't we? Nicely done.

  6. You know... whenever someone thinks: "What's the harm?" in the book, there usually something very nasty lurking just beyond view...

  7. I remember hearing about this series before and thinking it sounded interesting. Will have to check it out sometime!
