Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Your teaser:
"Tell him that I'll keep my promise. By this time tomorrow, he won't miss me." (page 178)
I read so many glowing reviews about this book last year, so couldn't wait to read it.
ReplyDeletekudos to you Christine for making yourself read the whole thing, because to be honest, I'm finding it a bit of a trial to read. :)
That cover alone is enough to draw me in!
ReplyDeleteAwesome teaser and that cover is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this one. The cover is gorgeous, though!
ReplyDeleteEven the teaser tells you it's not a good relationship!
ReplyDeleteOoh, that's on my "to read" list. Can't wait to see what you think of it when you're done. =)
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised I haven't heard of this book before, since I love YA so much! The cover turns me off (I have a butterfly phobia), and the fact that it has an unhealthy relationship turns me off even more. As much as I love YA, I agree, it's a genre too easily inclined to show relationships like that...yet we're still supposed to root for them for some reason. *head-desk* I think I'll be steering clear of this one!
ReplyDeleteI've seen several books using that same cover.
ReplyDeletei found your comments way more interesting than your tease! i've never heard of this book. i'll probably keep it off my TBR list if you don't like it!
ReplyDeleteTrish - my teaser
Fantastic teaser and the cover is intriguing! I'm off to check this one out!

I did really enjoy this one, but it mainly had to do with the mystery surrounding their backstories that made the characters the way they are. I'm looking forward to reading Walking Disaster, which has the story told from Travis' POV to see how the difference is.
ReplyDeleteHere's my TT
There's nothing more frustrating than a horrible relationship portrayed as okay!

Thank you all for stopping by. I ended up not liking this book at all. I just couldn't get past the horrible characters and relationship.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this one, but I can't stand weak heroines or ones who have no real goal except getting the guy. I don't understand the appeal. Yet, look at Twilight and 50 Shades of Grey. They're bestsellers. Yuck.
ReplyDeleteKeep writing strong heroines! I love those. :-)
Hah, I just realized I had this book mixed-up with that upcoming movie with Emma Thompson, Beautiful Creatures. D'oh! :-)
ReplyDeleteSome Dark Romantic
This one has passed me by, but going off what you said I think I'll give it a miss! Kudos to you for sticking it out til the end, I don't have the patience any more if I'm not enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteI haven't learned anything about promoting, since I don't have a book to promote, yet. But I've learned a lot from you and the other busy bloggers. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI've read my share of books that I didn't connect with, but like Nick, I quit before the end.
I dislike weak heroines too... give me a feisty one any day. Sorry you're not enjoying the story.
