Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Here's your teaser:
The dog needed a vet. I had no money. My parents weren't animal people. I'd stolen something from a crime scene. (page 87)
Hi Christine!
ReplyDeleteOK...! "Abelardo said nothing, leaned his head against the wall, but twice had to stagger into the toilet with the plywood door."
and
"The room was crowded with people, wailing, coughing children, an old woman who kept passing her hand across her brow as though to stroke away some pain that lay near the surface."
Annie Proulx "Accordian Crimes"
This book has been on my TBR pile for a while ... great teaser, now to find the time. :)

ReplyDeleteHere's my teaser: http://surroundedbybooksreviews.blogspot.com/2012/02/teaser-tuesdays-tundra-37-by-aubrie.html
It seems like a lot of people are reading this one this week. It's been on my to die for list for foreer.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy it.
Here's my Teaser Tuesday.
I want to read this!
ReplyDeleteThe sentence structure of this excerpt is so different than how I write! Lots of short ones. Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the character is in some deep trouble. Stole something from a crime scene? Do her (?) parents know? Sort of sounds like it. Choppy sentences, but I'm betting that's just in this particular section for emphasis? I'm interested in this book after all I've heard about it, too. Hope it's good!
