Geek girl problem #432: All the new books you want to read come out on Tuesdays and you don't get paid until Fridays!
I'm over at the awesome Shannon Lawrence's blog today to hook you in with another excerpt.
A BIG thank you to Jeff Chapman for nominating me for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award! He's a talented speculative fiction author, and I'm so happy that recently he became a part of Untethered Realms.

Here are three things that inspired me:
1. My son's bravery. He recently had surgery on his eyes to correct an eye turn. A scary thing for a small child. Scary for anyone to have an operation on their eyes! But he didn't complain, whine, or cry. He was sweet, well-mannered, and incredibly brave even after two and a half hours of waiting at the surgery center before he was taken into the OR. What an amazing and wonderful person he's grown to be.
2. Heather Von St. James and her victory over asbestos cancer. Read my blog post here.
3. The tree in my front yard has little buds on it. I feel that excitement every year when I see it budding and know that it will soon be in full flower. It's a Cleveland Pear, and when the flowers are in full blossom, it's so pretty. My next novel will be set in early spring so I can have a tree just like it in it.
I'm not going to nominate anyone in particular. Every one of you is an inspiration. Do not doubt it.
Zombie Dice. You know you want them!
That's awesome your son was so brave. And even better that everything went well with the surgery.
ReplyDeletecongratulations and big hugs to your little man for his bravery!
ReplyDeleteYour son is brave. I should have Lasik, but I'm too scared. Tell him he's my hero.
ReplyDeleteBig things are obvious, but sometimes its the smallest things that mean so much. :-)

So glad the surgery went well for your son. He is a brave little guy. And yay for flower buds!
ReplyDeleteAh! I LOVE Zombie Dice. Such a fun game.
ReplyDeleteHigh five to your son. Brave kids rock!
Glad to hear your son handled the surgery so well. Already visited you on your other post.
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear your son did well. And big cheers for the gal beating cancer- that's awesome.
ReplyDeleteHe's definitely a brave little guy. I know you're really proud of him.
ReplyDeleteThank you, everyone. Yeah, my little guy makes me so proud! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous you have buds on your tree! We live in South Texas and even we don't have buds yet.
ReplyDeleteNow I want to go out and see if we have buds yet. We've had such strange warm temperatures this winter that people who planted bulbs are seeing them popping up already. Sadly, winter isn't anywhere near over for us, so I don't know if everyone will lose those bulbs. Then again, maybe the freak weather will continue. Good for your son for handling his surgery so well!
