Friday Five for September 26, 2014

1. Less than one week until I have my cast removed! I will be in a brace or splint, but it will be nice to have it gone. I'm still not feeling energetic, but I'm slowly getting back into the groove.

2. I've been critiquing and catching up on little things this week. There have been lots of things going on with Untethered Realms. October will be a BIG month. Don't forget to preorder our anthology, Twisted Earths, and you can choose one ebook from any of the authors for free.

3. It's the start of the new season of TV shows. I've been watching Doctor Who, The Big Bang Theory, and Modern Family. Gotham is a new one on FOX. It has potential if it doesn't overdo it with the kids. I can't wait for The Walking Dead and Supernatural. And finally there's the new sci-fi series, Ascension. My fingers are crossed it will be good. What are you watching?

4. I've no plans for the weekend, but we're coming up on my favorite month of the year. Autumn leaves, pumpkin patches, apple picking, and Halloween. I can't wait!

5. Have you taken your Shelfie yet?

When: From Now until October 6th, 2014

What: Take a picture of your favorite book(s), your bookshelves, or you with your favorite book(s). We understand if you're shy and don't want to be in the picture, but you get bonus points if you are. Then share it on your blog, Facebook, or Twitter. It's as quick and easy as that!

I'm excited to co-host this blog hop with seven amazing authors: Tara Tyler, Heather Gardner, CD Coffelt, M.J. Fifield, Elizabeth Seckman, Rena Rocford, and Vikki Biram. We'll be offering prizes for various categories. The grand prize winner will win $40! I'll be giving away a digital copy of The 13th Floor Complete Collection for the geekiest Shelfie.

Here is another one of my bookshelves. A lot of hardcovers here and my old university textbooks. I find it very difficult to part with any sort of book!

  1. Hi Christine - glad the cast is coming off soon and your wrist will be released into the world!

October is a pretty good month isn't it .. but it is very difficult to get rid of books - I've had to do quite a lot recently .. moving and my mothers' ... but I've kept 'a few'! Cheers Hilary

  2. It sounds like your wrist is healing well, which is very good.

I'm excited about the new TV season, although I haven't had a chance to watch much yet. I have around 5.5 hours to watch this weekend (Gotham, Scorpion, The Blacklist, Hell's Kitchen, and Big Brother--yes, I know who won, but I still want to see the last episode). I'm really looking forward to The Flash, which debuts on October 7th.

  3. I enjoy October now that I'm not teaching anymore. It was fun doing all that fall stuff with the kids. Raking up huge piles of leaves for the kids to jump into was one of my favorites.
Don't overdo when you get that cast off. It will still need some time or you'll end up with tendonitis.

  4. I'm counting the minutes until The Walking Dead! :)
I love October and fall too. Yay for the cast removal!

  5. Glad Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is back on, but hope they improve the show this season.
    Football! Best reason for autumn.
And I did my shelfie already.

  6. I watched Gotham on Hulu last night. I fear for it because it's from FOX. I watched Forever last night too. That looks interesting, probably one I'll continue following.

We don't have cable, so haven't been able to keep up with Big Bang Theory, even though we love it.

  7. Christine - yay on the cast coming off soon!

I watched the first episode of Gotham with my son. Thought it was pretty good. I also like Sleepy Hollow and The Walking Dead.

I'll be sharing my shelfie on October 2nd.

  8. I can't wait for Supernatural either. So excited to watch the new season. I don't get to watch much TV because I'm always really busy. I love Halloween too. looking forward to decorating this year- I even grew my own pumpkins- though only one actually grew to regular pumpkin size. :)

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  10. Gotham just might be good!
As for me, I'm watching Boardwalk Empire, Sleepy Hollow, the Voice, Orphan Black and Sons of Anarchy (which is a bit too violent for me, but I'm going to stick it out because it's the last season).

  11. I really want to watch Gotham. If you haven't seen Forever yet, you might want to check it out.

It's understated, but it has a warmth to it that's difficult to describe, but keeps me watching. :-D

  13. Doctor Who has been brilliant so far, and I'm looking forward to Big Bang coming back (still waiting in the UK). I'm not going to be watching Gotham, but Hubby and the kids are excited.

Glad to hear you're finally getting rid of the cast :-)

  14. WOW -- look at those books. I see some King in there, very nice. So glad the cast is coming off; you'll feel like yourself again in no time. Walking Dead season 4 started streaming on Netflix today, and I can't wait to get caught up.
