Teaser Tuesday with Gameboard of the Gods

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I've been waiting a while to get my hands on GAMEBOARD OF THE GODS by Richelle Mead, and it hasn't disappointed me. In fact, it's fast becoming one of my favorite books of all time. Yes, it's that amazing. Exceptional worldbuilding and characterization. A futuristic dark fantasy with a beautiful and slowly unfurling supernatural aspect.
Here's your teaser:
A haughty, lethal bodyguard. An assignment involving shadowy phantoms. This homecoming was starting to accrue a hefty price tag.
You still want to pay it? asked Horatio.
Absolutely. (page 61)

Don't forget to enter THE GHOST giveaway for a chance to win all of the books in my 13th Floor series!

  1. Pay what???

It sounds like a good read. I'll have to add it to my list. =)

  2. if this has your stamp of approval then it's definitely going on my TBR pile!

  3. Sounds good! Thanks, Christine. :)

  4. There are more and more dystopia related books coming out... something I want to explore more because The Hunger Games was the first (and I think the only) book I have read with Dystopian theme.

  5. I loved this book!
If you feel like it, you can read my review here.
Here's my Teaser Tuesday Written in Red by Anne Bishop
Mei @ Diary of a Fair Weather Diver

  6. That is a very tempting teaser.

  7. I haven't seen this before, but I do hope to read it. I enjoy Mead's writing.

  8. I hope you are enjoying. I've been hearing rather mixed thoughts on this one. Thank you!

If you'd like to stop by we have two teasers this week as well. :)

  9. Thank you for popping by, folks! I LOVED this book. It was so incredibly original and the god maneuvering was subtle. I can't wait for the next one in the series.
