Teaser Tuesday with Tuesdays at the Castle

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I don't remember who posted something about this book on their blog a couple of months ago, but it immediately caught my attention. Tuesdays at the Castle by Jessica Day George is a children's book, and it has that magic that drew me in like the Harry Potter series. So far, I'm loving it!
Here's your teaser:
"It's a castle... I mean, how much could it really understand?"
"Don't talk like that," Celie warned. "It might throw you out!" (page 48)

  2. That line is adorable! Depending how far you are into this read - whether you can answer, but would you recommend it for boys? This is the second Teaser that I thought might be a good read aloud for my first and third graders. I don't mind reading aloud. - Moira

    1. I've finished it and loved it. I think boys would like it too. The protagonist is an eleven year old girl, but she's not really girly or anything, and she has an older brother that is in the adventure with her. If the kids liked Harry Potter, then they'll like this book.

  5. Sounds nice. I went from not reading much to now reading 4 books on my Nook. They keep piling up.
