Saturday Snapshot - September 24

Saturday Snapshot is a great weekly meme hosted by At Home With Books
Flying down the street.

I think it so funny how when toddlers run, they thrust out their arms behind them
and lean forward with their hands curled back.
No one teaches them this.
I wonder what it is inside of them that makes it seems like the best way to run.

  1. I too love watching toddlers run! Also when a small child springs forth instead of walking!!

  2. I think it's just balance. Their heads are so big they need a counterweight. Seems just yesterday mine were toddlers instead of 6-foot, 4-inch goliaths loping down basketball courts.

  3. It is a universal thing, though, isn't it? Oh, I love watching them enjoy everything with such enthusiasm. Thanks for sharing.

  4. I love when they run as though they're stamping their feet at the same time. So cute!

  5. They do seem to figure out the best way to balance. They are so clever.

  6. An innate understanding of aerodynamics? Or superhero genes somewhere in their background? All the little guy needs is a cape!

  7. I was thinking counter-balance too. Or maybe not realizing yet that they need to have their hands ready for if they fall. :)

  11. Thank you all! Yes, they never do seem to think they'll fall. I feel so bad to see my son with his bumps and bruises. Yet he gets right back up and goes again!
