A Hint of Cayenne cover reveal

Two bounty hunting elves must put aside their attraction to each other when a malevolent fairy comes up for grabs. Cayenne and Hawthorne both need the twenty gold reward, but only one can walk away with it.

This is another gorgeous cover for the Trouble with Elves series. I'm a huge fan of these books. Fantasy with a naughty edge.

About the author:
If I had to describe myself, it would be in a word that has infinite meanings with a complexity which falls off the tongue. A word made up of many elements, is deceptive in appearance, and creates an illusion from the imagination. My word would be Phantasmagoric.

Elven Obsession cover reveal and Friday Five for August 1, 2014

1. Last week I mentioned I was stressed out by my son's preschool relocation. Thankfully, the school has been allowed to finish out its lease, and so we can stay this school year. Yay! I've been helping clean up the playground and getting things ready for the children. 17 days until school starts!

2. Click on over to Untethered Realms for a review written by me. Also find out who won the huge giveaway! Thank you so much to everyone who entered and followed our blog.

3. I've been reading and critiquing a lot this week. I haven't gotten any writing done, but these are some darn good reads! I'm immensely lucky to have such talented CPs and beta readers, so when I read their stuff, I'm blown away.

4. My website is coming together. My husband has all the basics done. I aimed for minimalistic, and it turned out very... bare. We discussed what things we could add without making it crowded. One thing I'm adding is a background, and I had a few amazing images I picked for it. If people visiting the site can tear their eyes from my shirtless dragonslayer to see it! Keep your fingers crossed that the site will be live very soon.

5. I'm excited to help the tantalizing Decadent Kane reveal the cover for the Trouble With Elves series. This is my favorite one yet!

Elven Obsession is coming August 29th.

Steele Your Soul review

Blurb:
Stolen souls, an evil drow elf, a dark eyed beauty named Pepper, and a king who doesn't take kindly to the loss of his goods...Captain Joren Steele has his hands full.

When Pepper set out for the day, the last thing she expected was to come face to face with a pirate. But when she locks eyes with the Captain, she's ready to let him pillage or plunder whatever he wants. At least until his drow shipmate decided to steal her for himself.

Captain Joren Steele has a love for his ship, money, and females, usually in that order. When Pepper steps into his life, he's certain his love 'em and leave 'em status will remain intact. But when he discovers she's a victim of the drow, he has to make a choice: his ship or the elfess.

My review:
Captain Joren Steele loves his life. A magnificent ship, money in his pocket, and a pretty elfess in every port. Usually a couple of them! When he spies the lovely Pepper on the dock one day, he doesn't expect this fiery gal might challenge his way of life. A drow shipmate sets his eyes on Pepper as well and steals her for himself. Will Joren be able to save her or will they both be lost to the darkness of the drows' realm?

This is my favorite in Decadent Kane's The Trouble With Elves series, and it's largely due to Joren Steele. Cocky, lusty, and sexy, there's more to him than just what's on the surface. There is honor amongst some pirates even if he can be easily distracted by a woman. Pepper is sweet and brave, a character easy to sympathize with. The heat between Joren and Pepper is explosive! I also like how the villains in Kane's books are absolutely despicable. The drow had my stomach turning.

I love the world Kane has created. Modern, yet medieval and magical. The little details paint a vivid picture. I can't wait to read more stories in this world.

I'd really like to see more of Captain Joren Steele. A LOT more!

Review of Tempting Clover

Blurb:
Breaking a goblin's curse is more difficult than Clover thought. Especially when love and nightshade are crucial ingredients.

For two years, Clover has been at a goblin's beck and call. Two years of no orgasms. Until she heard a rumor the sage witch could help her break the goblin's curse. There's only a few minor details, like how would she find love on short notice and how deadly are nightshade berries?

Reed's life was simple—own a bar, walk to work, fight a little. He didn't expect to tangle with a wanton elfess who disappeared on him not once but twice. Let alone save her from a depraved goblin. He'd sworn off women like her for good, so why did he feel the need to protect her?

My review:
The beautiful elf Clover has lost her freedom all for want of shelter from a storm. Next time she'd be more careful to check who is taking her in! Held under a goblin's curse, Clover must supply him with the evidence of her arousal so the ugly beast can use it for his potions. She meets a gorgeous bartender named Reed who makes her hotter than anyone else before, and even more so, makes her heart beat faster with something else. Can Clover find a way to break the goblin's curse and be free to love as she chooses?

This book was so much fun! It's a modernized fairy tale with a naughty twist. It doesn't take itself too seriously, but gives the reader a fantastic story about elves and goblins. There isn't too much world building or back story. It wasn't needed. This tale is all about the characters and the present conflict.

Clover is a strong protagonist, never giving up trying to find a way to free herself from the curse. She's beautiful and daring. Reed is incredibly sexy. An alpha with powerful morals. The scenes with the two of them are sizzling! As for the goblin, I loathed him. A villain that twists my stomach.

You don't need to read the first book in this series to enjoy this one, but you don't want to miss out on any of the Trouble With Elves books. Decadent Kane does know how to tantalize her readers!

Tempting Clover by Decadent Kane teaser excerpt

Teaser excerpt:

"How come I get the feeling you're trying to get away from me?" She countered him at the end of the bar.
"Because I am." No reason to lie about it. The colder he was maybe the more it would make her realize he didn't want her. On the other hand, perhaps he was trying to convince himself he didn't want her.
Clover gave a pout. "I don't think I'm going to make it that easy on you." She leaned over the bar so her next words would only be heard by him. "The last time we saw each other I'm quite sure you wanted to do something with me."
Reed sucked in air. Clover was tearing apart his resolve already. Why'd she have to be so forth coming? Why'd he have to be attracted to her? "What do you want from me?"
"Everything." Her eyes slid over his body and Reed could have sworn she was actually touching the sensitive flesh beneath his clothes. A gentle caress and he hardened despite his best efforts.
He narrowed his gaze on her. "Careful or you might get more than you bargained for." Oh, for the love of snails, he was flirting back. It was as if he had no control over his body at all.
Clover slid over the counter and Reed let the bar fall to the back of his mind. His gaze held hers and he was sure he'd fall into her depths. She pulled her warm body right up alongside of his. "Only one problem, I'm cursed."

Friday Five for November 1st, 2013 & Ribbon of Darkness cover reveal

1. First, another thank you to everyone who helped and followed along with my blog tour last month. It was a long haul, but so much fun. Don't forget to enter the final giveaway on Clare Dugmore's blog. There's still one chance left to win a signed copy of The 13th Floor Complete Collection.

2. Today is the first day of NaNoWriMo 2013. I'm excited. I'm participating even though I don't have much time to write this month. And today I assist at my son's preschool, so I won't have any time to write the morning or afternoon. Our trick-or-treating was postponed to tonight since we had a huge storm pass through the state yesterday. If I'm lucky, I might get an hour or two to write after he goes to bed tonight.

3. I'll be taking a step back from blogging during November and December. I have a lot of pre-scheduled posts. (It actually doesn't look like I'm taking a break at all with how many there are!) I'll pop in now and then, but two weeks this month will be taken up by family visiting. We're getting in all the family visits this month so we can have a relaxing Christmas without any traveling. We did that last year, and it was fantastic. Our Christmas gift to ourselves to have a stress-free holiday week.

4. I'll be focusing on writing for NaNo this month and revising another novel in December. Then in January, I can fall back into my regular blogging schedule. You know, I still haven't settled into anything new after we lost Google Reader. That will be something I need to do too. A productive chore to do when I'm procrastinating about revising.

5. I will certainly be around in a few weeks for Realms Faire 2013. It's going to be tremendous! There are several events and giveaways planned. I'll be hosting the Drench-a-Wench / Soak-a-Bloke event. It's fast, easy, and tons of fun. I'm also participating in the Joust this year. Please come cheer my champion, Sir Xanthus Ehrensvard, and defeat last year's victor. Click on the badge below for all the details.

Now on to Decadent Kane's gorgeous cover reveal!

An old family secret draws Ribbon into an Elven world while Draven is forced to find a way to drag her back home to save Christmas magic.
