The Lazy Housewife guest post with Tara Tyler & Kyra Lennon's cover reveal for Everybody Knows

Who likes grocery shopping? Hmm, I don't see many hands. Well, I'm not so crazy about it myself. It's a chore. And if you have little ones with you, it can be downright painful.

Today, I'm offering some Lazy Housewife tips, not just on pain-free grocery shopping, but a couple of other trending mom helpers you might like to try...

1) Online Shopping - I was skeptical at first because I really don't like other people touching my groceries. But now that I'm working all the time, I have no time to grocery shop. My hub did it for a while, but he didn't want to take the time for it either, so this new service popped up at just the right time. A Kroger in my area lets you send them a grocery list and all you have to do is drive-thru to get it. They bag everything and put it all right into your car. It's fabulous! Drawbacks - sometimes things are out of stock (or don't try hard enough to find them...) and you can't pick things you wouldn't have thought of, but that could be a good thing, too.

2) Meal Parties - I'm not sold on this idea. I've been invited to a couple, but haven't gone yet. From what I understand, you have to bring a lot of the food already prepped, then you put everything together and bring it home. I was surprised that I had to make several items for my Tastefully Simple party, nevermind chopping stuff up then bringing it to someone else's kitchen to mix up, then bring it back home to cook it. Sure, cooking with friends sounds fun, but without the cooking part... I'll come and just hang out and watch.

3) College Student Nannies - I guess this isn't really that new, but I seem to know more moms or students who do it lately. It's a great idea for all involved, the moms, the kids, and the students. As long as it's a good fit and they have good references. I've heard stories from both sides...

Pop Travel's Geri on being a Lazy Housewife

Thanks so much for letting me invade your blog today, Christine!

Christine requested a Lazy Housewife post - well, I'm putting a twist on it, of course. Today we are going to hear from Geri Harper, Cooper's love interest in POP TRAVEL. Before I let her take over, I'll tell you a little about her. Geri is an FBI agent. She's tough, sarcastic, and doesn't have a lot of patience. Her favorite relaxation is watching late night TV with a big juicy sandwich in a bubble bath. And now, here's Geri's stance on being a Lazy Housewife...

Can you see me as a lazy housewife?! I'd have a lazy house-husband before I'd wait on a man or give up my career to stay home and take care of kids and all that goes with that. Cooper will make a wonderful lazy house-husband, at least the lazy part. So here are my anti-lazy housewife tips:

• Buy a personal android - If I had a messy family, I'd get one or two to do the cooking and cleaning and driving around. I don't have one for just me because I'm never home. It would collect more dust than it would actively dust.
• Use a service - whether android or human, a weekly or monthly service is the next best thing to owning one, this is what I do and it's worth it. (if that makes me a lazy housewife, so be it.)
• As for food, I have my order delivered weekly and it's mostly meal pellets. I love my rehydrator.
• And my last bit of advice - don't have kids. I know some women can't resist the little cherubs, but as I was cursed by my dad, mine would be just like me. I can't risk it, so no kids in my future.

Pop Travel with Tara Tyler - Lazy Housewife

Thank you for having me, Christine! We've been blog friends forever. And we live geographically close enough to visit someday… gotta make that happen!

But there's this thing called time. No one seems to have enough of it. I noticed several writers agreed with that statement in this month's IWSG.

I, the Lazy Housewife (ie – Queen of Efficiency), identify and eradicate time wasters. Things like driving, dusting, and showering. Sure driving gets you there, dusting makes your house appear clean, and showering makes you not smell bad. But those futile, mindless chores must be done over and over again, wasting the precious minutes I wish I could be doing other things, like writing! So, here are my wishful thinking future household gadgets:

• Cars that drive themselves – we're already almost there. But I wonder, would you trust a highway full of computer driven cars? And if we let cars drive for us, why don't we just all use mass transit? It just seems silly, doesn't it? (teleportation, baby!)
• A robot maid/self-cleaning house – especially for the bathroom. I have three, well, four, boys. Eww!
• Speed-shower – be blasted with a cleanser, rinse, and be done! Like a car wash or decontamination stall.
• Remember Andromeda Strain? I liked the biodegradable, disposable clothes – no laundry! Can I have an incinerator installed, please? Poof goes the garbage!

In Pop Travel, they use a lot of cool spy gadgets, and even more in Simulation, the next Reluctant Detective novel (I'm still looking for a good name for Cooper's series…). The gadgets I can see popping into stores the soonest are the QV and CC. They both combine web surfing, smartphone technology, and more, into a holographic, 3D imager. QV stands for quarknet viewer that goes on your wrist, and CC is a compucenter that also includes TV/satellite.

And developers are working on new innovations all the time. In my research, I found this article at the Business Insider: In the future, says Winkless, a range of energy-grubbing technologies will increasingly appear in the home: “Energy harvesting pots could mean that boiling your pasta charges your mobile phone. The vibrations of your washing machine could power wireless sensors – or your TV remote could be powered just by you pressing the buttons." (Source)
