  6. I love my huge Oxford Dictionary. However, one does need to be able to spell to actually benefit from it. As a teacher it used to really irritate me when a fellow teacher told a student to look a word up in the dictionary if he/she couldn't spell it. How on earth can they find a word they can't spell. Doh!!

  7. Those are good! Yes, the Elf on the Shelf is kind of creepy. Now kids are giving them names. There are boy ones and girl ones, and they spy on the kids for Santa. My student told me she named hers, Sparkle. She's convinced that Sparkle is alive.

  8. I fondly remember the year I got a big dictionary for Christmas. I still have it even though I haven't opened it in five or six years! I also have my thesaurus which sat beside my computer for several years.
