Dream Destination Blog-hop

To celebrate the launch of their books Soul Cutter and The Ghosts of Aquinnah, Lexa Cain and Julie Flanders invite you to a Blog-hop and Giveaway.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Beaches of Hawaii? Slopes of Vail? Cancun, Paris, or Rome?
Where is your Dream Destination?

On Dec 5 or 6, post about your Dream Destination
(with blog-hop badge and links to Lexa and Julie's blogs)
Go to Lexa and Julie’s blog to enter the Rafflecopter Giveaway
and from Dec 5 - 8, use the Linky tool to visit the other bloggers
to see the wonderful places they want to visit.

I'd love to travel to so many places in the world. I'd be a gypsy if I could afford to do so. But if I could travel to just one place it would be the United Kingdom.

Of course I want to see London and all the famous landmarks, museums, and historical sites. But I really want to just wander around. Take long drives through the country. See the ruins of castles few tourists go out of their way to explore. Experience the magic and beauty of the land. Oh to have a view like the one in this picture!

And maybe have an adventure with the Doctor.

Or indulge my inner cougar and hunt down Rupert Grint.

  1. I know that castle! Gorgeous isn't it? There's so much to see and do in the UK, and everything feels steeped in a medieval atmosphere. I completely understand why it's your dream destination. So cool! Thanks for joining the hop and don't forget to stop by our blogs and enter the giveaway! :-)

  2. How lovely, you'd like to visit our country, yes, it is a rich source of ideas for my children's books and our medieval market town is well worth a visit, Christine.

  3. I lived there for a while. You'd dig it Christine! So much to see. You could spend weeks in the London area alone and not see half of the city.

  4. Ooooo, yes, England would be good. I want to go to their next door neighbor, Scotland.

  5. I'd love to go there, too. I have a friend who lived there for a couple of years, and she definitely wants to go back!

  6. I see. So you want views of more than just the countryside. :-)

  7. I love soaking up the atmosphere of a place - driving around, visiting out of the way places, etc. Your destination sounds like fun! :)

  8. LOL, the last line cracked me up. I loved my one visit to England and would love to go back and do just as you say - wander around. There's so much to see!

Thanks so much for taking part in our hop, Christine!

  9. I've been feeling really sad that I probably won't get my annual UK trip this year . . . I've seen big swaths of it and there are still so many parts I long to visit!

  10. England is beautiful and there is always so much to do and see in London alone. I lived there for over a year, and I never saw a fraction of what I wanted to.

  11. London sounds like an interesting place to visit.

  12. With the Doctor? LOL Which one. Matt Smith was my favorite.

  13. The UK sounds like a great destination!

  14. I've never been to England, though I'm drifting back into my old, years-long habit of using British spellings. Most Americans probably find that extremely pretentious, but I don't care. My first stop in England would be Birmingham, to do some genealogical research on one of the branches of my family tree. I don't understand why a lot of Brits hold the Brummie accent in such low regard. Not everyone can be from London.

  15. You would love the UK. And if you stop in London, I'll buy you a beer or tea. Not sure what you prefer. I need to spend more time driving in the countryside. Probably should get a license and a car ;)

  16. An adventure with the Doctor sounds like a great plan!

You'd like the UK. But don't go in the winter -too cold and damp!

  17. Thanks, folks! I think I'd like it there in any weather. My Doctor will always be David Tennent. :)

  18. Sounds like a fabulous destination, and a smart plan to enjoy it at your leisure. I think it'd be much more enjoyable to go it alone than to be herded around as part of a tour group. Well, not entirely alone... perhaps Rupert Grint could be persuaded to serve as your... personal guide.

  19. I want to go to the UK, too. And take over the couch of one of my best friend's couch. I would probably eat all her food, too.

  20. The UK is somewhere I always pictured myself being. Good choice.

  21. Hi Christine,

Noted and if you do make it to Britain, I shall organise the parades in your honour. Please remember that we drive on the other side of the road! :)

  23. I'm a Brit and we usually take our green and pleasant land for granted, but since we moved to Dubai for work, we no longer do. We dream of all the places we've yet to explore when we return. I'm so glad you chose the UK as your dream destination.

  26. Sounds like my kind of adventure too! Imagine how beautiful it must be, driving and stopping, and touring for hours at a time!

  30. We spent days driving around the UK from ruin to ruin. I love them. If you can't find a travel partner, I would do it again :)

  31. I've been to a few places in UK a couple of years ago, like London, Southhampton and the beautiful Isle Of Wight.
Well, what can I say? England is very worth a visit :)

    Great post!

  32. Oh yes, I'd love to drive all over and see all there is to see, not just London. Such ancient history to visit! The U.S. is so young that it's easy to forget just how old structures elsewhere can be.

  33. Yay! Some love for the UK! I've lived in the USA for the past decade but there are some things about Britain I really miss, one of which is being surrounded by old things. You should go and soak some of that stuff up!

  34. I was fortunate enough to see parts of London during a visit in 1988... many, many moons ago...
It's a vibrant place... always a buzz going on...
