A Week For Celebration

Happy birthday to my awesome little guy!
Well, not really so little anymore. He's turning seven this Thursday.

I'll be absent from the webs this week as my mom is down visiting, and we're celebrating this gorgeous young man.

Have a great week!

Friday Five for April 15, 2016

1. I have a release date for Big Burning (Sasquatch Susies #3). April 28th! That's less than two weeks away. It's awesome how fast this series has come together. This third and final one is my favorite of the series. Add it to read on Goodreads.

2. I'm almost done Totem #4. One more chapter. I think I can do it today. I can do it. I don't have a title yet, but hopefully my critique partners and beta readers can help with that.

3. I'm still having fun shopping images this month. I found images of the same model used for my cover for Of Blood and Sorrow. They make me want to write more books in that series. I have a few ideas too. So many stories to write, so little time!

4. My mom's visiting next week, so I'll be absent from the net. Lots of fun is going to be had, because...

5. It's my son's sixth birthday next week! Six. Wow. Time really does fly by when you're a parent. His party is this Sunday at a local park, and the weather is going to be spectacular.

Have an awesome weekend!

Friday Five for October 2, 2015

1. The edits for Poltergeist's Pleasure (The Paramours #2) are finished. I'm having a great time working with my new editor. She's quick and efficient. That means I have a release date: October 23rd. Just in time for Halloween!

2. I've been editing and critiquing this week, but I managed to get started on the second novella in my Totem series. Totem. Yes, I really like it. The more I type it, the better it feels. It's the same way I felt about the 13th Floor, and I'm still in love with that series.

3. Next week I'll be absent from the internet. It's my son's fall break and my mother will be visiting. We'll be doing lots of fun fall activities which include celebrating my birthday! We'll be going to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner one night. Mmmm... I'm already drooling thinking about the desserts. I do have a book review for Monday and my IWSG post for Wednesday all ready to go.

4. Tomorrow my family and I will be going to a nearby Renaissance Faire with friends. A way to warm up for the Realms Faire festivities coming next month! Keep your fingers crossed that it won't rain.

5. Last but not least, the Realms Faire Thunderclap has been fixed. Huzzah! Please lend your support on social media to help promote this fantastic event. Just click HERE and pick how you'd like to help out.

Have a wonderful week!

Friday Five for April 24, 2015

1. What a busy week! I had a great visit with my mom. My son's birthday party was rained out, but he wasn't bothered by it at all. He's such a trooper! I, on the other hand, was really disappointed. Spring weather is unpredictable. We brought his cake and decorations to school on Monday and had a little party there with his school friends. It makes me so joyful that I have a happy child who goes with the flow when things like this happen.

2. Thank you to everyone who visited this week. It's my pleasure to help out my fellow writers with reviews and promos. It'll take me some time to catch back up on things, but I'll be making the rounds.

3. For those of you doing the A to Z Challenge, wow, we're nearly at the end. You're almost there! This month has been speeding by. It's been so much fun to participate with Untethered Realms. Next week, look on X day for a certain dragon slayer. *winks*

4. No writing or reading was done this week, but I squeezed in a bit of time to critique two short stories for my local writer's meeting this Saturday. I submitted my sci-fi horror tale. Hopefully I managed to pull off the terrifying twist.

5. Have a wonderful weekend, folks! Here's a smile to help you get into the happy weekend mood.

Friday Five for April 3, 2015

1. We're three days in to the 2015 A to Z Blogging Challenge. If you're participating, how are you doing? I'm doing it with the Untethered Realms group again this year. It's so much fun and less stress that way. Pop on over to read teasers from our books.

2. With the Challenge going on, I'm going to step back and only do a few blog posts this month. Some promos and reviews for my fellow authors, and my Friday Five.

3. I've started a new urban fantasy novel. It's slow going at the moment, but this one is heavy. It's going to be a big one. Huge in length, but also heavy plot-wise. So many things are weaving together. I love having a story grow organically like this.

4. Today is my husband's birthday. My son and I will bake him a cake and make him a special dinner. And it's Easter this weekend. Happy Easter to all who celebrate! My little guy is eager to go egg hunting.

5. Finally, thank you to everyone who supported and encouraged me during my tours. You guys are awesome! Here are the final winners of the Geeky Dice & Debauchery Tour Giveaway.

Friday Five for April 18, 2014

1. How are you A-to-Zers doing? Having a lot of fun? I've been loving visiting your blogs, and I'm having a blast with fantastical creatures at Untethered Realms. Today I'll be there with the letter P. Come find out what strange being I've been working on with my latest WIP.

2. I had a great visit with my mom this week. She spoiled us all. Am I old because I'm excited she bought me a shoe rack so I could have shoes organized and out of the way by the front door?

3. No writing or revising was done this past week. I still haven't heard from the editors about the majority of my short story submissions nor about my geeky novella. At least I'm not checking my email every fifteen minutes anymore!

4 & 5. Big weekend coming up. There's Easter, of course, but also my little guy is turning four! I can hardly believe it. He's so smart and his feet are nearing my size! We'll be having a party at the park for him. He invited all his friends from his class at school. We'll have about seven kids with their families there. Lots of fun! And sugar. Wish me luck!

Happy 4th birthday, to my favorite guy!

The Vanished Knight is now available & a birthday break

Blurb:
The Black Knight, Nordaine’s crown prince, has no legitimate blood heirs, meaning someone must be appointed to succeed him. With two of the candidates’ families willing to kill for the appointment and the third candidate being seen as a threat to all, peace is balanced on a sword’s edge.

But then the Black Knight vanishes.

Darrion and Gawain, two of his possible heirs, set out to find him, but after they rescue an earth-girl from Merithian soldiers, they discover she has possible ties to Nordaine. Not only that, but Callan Blair could be an Elvish princess. And war looms on the horizon…

Buy the book here:

Congratulations to Misha! It's a gorgeous cover, and I love the sound of the story. You can find Misha on her blog, and we're also proud to have her as a fellow member of Untethered Realms.

Today I'm taking a break from the internet and going to a Ren Faire for my birthday. Hopefully the weather will hold out. Then we'll be enjoying dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. Good food, but I love it for the huge variety of yummy cheesecakes!

There's less than a day to enter the first of this month's giveaways! You could win a signed copy of The 13th Floor Complete Collection. I just got my box of books yesterday. (A wonderful birthday present from my husband! <3)
My birthday wish is to give away my book to all of you!

3 marvelous years

My adorable little guy is 3!
He had a fantastic birthday. Even a little flooding at the park didn't ruin the fun.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes.
You guys are so sweet.

Have a lovely Sunday!

Prepare yourself for a birthday bash & giveaway

Birthdays always make me nervous. Another year over. More wrinkles and gray hair. This year is a big birthday for me too. I'm trying not to think about it, but it's near impossible. I'm not a party person. I don't like being the center of attention. But I like cake. I really, really like cake.

To help take my mind off off being one year closer to being as gray as Tawa, I'm going to have a giveaway. Nothing makes me feel better than giving people stuff!

On Friday October 5th, I'll be giving away a print copy of FEARLESS with an inscription to the winner.

No, no. That won't do.

I'll be giving away TWO signed copies of my paranormal romance novella. Oh yes! And I will happily send them anywhere in the world. All my friends overseas, you can enter this giveaway too!

Yes! That makes me happy. Cake and giveaways!

Ah, poor Tawa. It sucks to be a stuffed animal when there's cake around.

Monday Mix

I can't believe there's only a week left of April. The A to Z Challenge has been so much fun. And what a response I've gotten about my story. Wow. Thank you all. I wasn't going to publish the story at all, but a lot of people have been encouraging me to do so. I think I might be a sucker for peer pressure in this.

I've been trying to design a banner for my blog. I came up with an image I like, but when I previewed it on my site, I didn't like it. It didn't seem to fit. I'll have to keep trying. I want to find something that really represents me.

Cherie Reich's Flashes of Foxwick is now available on Amazon and Smashwords. It's a great collection of fantasy pieces taking place in her marvelous world of Foxwick.

Aubrie Dionne's first fantasy romance novel, Messenger in the Mist, is on sale at Amazon for $.99! A beautifully written tale.

Alex J. Cavanaugh is having a contest to celebrate 1500 followers. Congratulations, Alex! He's giving away both his books - CassaStar and CassaFire - and the books will be donated to a school library of the winner's choice. Awesome.

My weekend was a busy one. My son turned two. He's happy, healthy, smart, creative, and beautiful. I lucked out with the little guy.
We already celebrated with my family in Canada on Easter. This past Saturday, we had a barbecue with our friends and decorated cupcakes. Good times.

The little guy looks A LOT like I did when I was his age. Here he is in a mud puddle, and there I am at two years old in a ruffly dress that does not suit a tomboy!
I didn't cut his hair to match mine. I like his page boy look. Mine was that bowl or mushroom cut which I hated as a child.
