This is one of the books that have wowed me this year. T.B. Markinson is an incredible character writer. I can't say enough great things about this book! Read my review here.

Tagline: To secure a loving future, she must shed an addicting past.
Blurb:
Newspaper publisher and world traveler JJ Cavendish continually feels pressured to live up to her Miracle Girl nickname. Not many people know she’s living a carefully crafted lie. She may not hide ties to the LGBT community, but she does hide past struggles with addiction.
When the Colorado native is handpicked to take the helm at a dying Denver newspaper, she ends up reconnecting with her long lost love in this contemporary lesbian romance. Only there’s a catch. If JJ fires the most belligerent editor at the paper, she risks losing the love of her life.
Mid-afternoon office romps abound in this romantic comedy while also focusing on what it takes for a newspaper to remain relevant in this age of social media.
Must JJ lose everything in order to gain a life more fully her own?
Praise for The Miracle Girl:
“The Miracle Girl is phenomenal!” Christine
“The best one yet.” Shellie
“I don't often give 5 stars to books, but I loved this book.” Heidi
“Impossible to put down.”  Windowwasher
“I was hooked by the first sentence.” Cheryll

Friday Five for July 11, 2014

1. For the month of July, The 13th Floor Complete Collection is on sale at Smashwords for 50% off with coupon code SSW50. With the same code, you can also get most of the novellas for FREE! So far I haven't had many sales there this month. Last year's Smashwords sale was more successful for me.

2. Sorry I still can't reveal what my big news is yet. It's a bit frustrating waiting, but this is what you deal with when you sign on with a publisher. It has to be before the end of the year because I know when my release date is!

3. I've not done any writing lately, but I've written blog posts and done a lot of little things. Obsessing about my author tagline took a lot of my time. And I'm still thinking about different ones!

4. My son finished his summer reading class this week. He's absolutely brilliant. So smart and yet has the focus of a four-year-old. (He is four, after all!) We'll spend the rest of the summer hanging out at the parks and pools. No other big plans.

5. I was lucky enough to win the awesome Tara Tyler's newest book, Broken Branch Falls from her Goodreads giveaway. It's absolutely amazing! I'll have a review on my blog in a few weeks, but this is one I recommend to everyone.

Sidelined cover reveal

Title: Sidelined (Game On Book 3)
Author: Kyra Lennon
Genre: NA Contemporary Romance
Release Date: March 31st 2014
Blurb:

At the age of twenty-one, Bree Collinson has more than she ever dreamed of. A handsome husband, a fancy house, and more shoes than Carrie Bradshaw and Imelda Marcos combined. But having everything handed to her isn’t the way Bree wants to live the rest of her life. When an idea to better herself pops into her head, she doesn’t expect her husband to question her, and keep her tied by her apron strings to the kitchen.

Isolated and unsure who to turn to, Bree finds herself falling back into a dangerous friendship, and developing feelings for the only person who really listens to her. Torn between her loyalty to her husband and her attraction to a man who has the perfect family she always wanted, she has some tough choices to make.

While Bree tries to figure out what she wants, a tragedy rocks the Westberg Warriors, triggering some dark memories, and pushing her to take a look at what’s really important.
Sidelined is the third book in Kyra Lennon’s Game On series. Game On (Book 1) and Blindsided (Book 2) are available on Amazon and Smashwords.

About the Author:
Kyra is a self-confessed book-a-holic, and has been since she first learned to read. When she's not reading, you'll usually find her hanging out in coffee shops with her trusty laptop and/or her friends, or girling it up at the nearest shopping mall. And occasionally hanging out with rock stars, because that’s how she rolls!

Kyra grew up on the South Coast of England and refuses to move away from the seaside which provides massive inspiration for her novels. Her debut novel, Game On (New Adult Contemporary Romance), was released in July 2012, and she scored her first Amazon Top 20 listing with her New Adult novella, If I Let You Go in November.

Friday Five for September 27, 2013

1. It's been a busy week. I'm all set for The 13th Floor Complete Collection blog tour. The book is already available on Amazon and Smashwords. It looks fantastic! Cherie Reich did an excellent job editing and formatting for me. We're making great progress with the print version. It'll definitely be ready for October 13th.

2. Click on over to Heather Musk's blog and read what she thought of the final novella in the 13th Floor series, THE GHOST. She'll be interviewing me on October 11th for my blog tour. Don't miss out!

3. I had a terrific time with Yolanda Renee on Monday. As promised, I used Random.org to pick a winner of an ecopy of MEMORIES OF MURDER. The winner is Catherine Stine! Congratulations, Catherine. I've already informed Yolanda that you were picked. Enjoy the book! Guess what? Yolanda is hosting me during my tour next month too. Join us on the 19th.

4. It's school picture day at my son's preschool. Last year I was the photographer's helper, and the boy refused to smile. This year, I won't be there, so hopefully he'll show them his cute dimples. It's been a long week with four days spent babysitting, a school board meeting, and an optometrist's appointment. Glasses have gotten so expensive!

5. Join me Monday for some creepiness. Julie Flanders' cover reveal for THE GHOSTS OF AQUINNAH and an announcement to give you the chills. In a good way!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Out from under the bed a little early

The official release date for FEARLESS is August 7th, but I couldn't wait any longer. The book is available already! If you've popped by today, please go get yourself a copy and enjoy.

Createspace ($3.99 for a print copy)

I was lucky enough to have a fantastic critique partner who is also an editor. She formatted the manuscript for me for each site. I went over everything again a couple of times before I finally started to upload the novella to each place.

Smashwords: Easy to upload. They were fast to get it up too. I had 3 downloads before I was even finished and satisfied with the profile. I like that I can put my work up for free here, and it will send it out to various other ebook sellers too. It was even more exciting when I started getting my reviews! I already have five 5 star reviews by random people. I want to hug them all! One kind reviewer dubbed my book "Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Monsters Inc." What a perfect description!

Amazon and B&N: Tedious. Lots of pages to fill out. They didn't have the book up for days. I didn't get the option of selling for free. At least on Amazon I can get it price-matched, but I've heard that's not permanent either. They are two major forces in the book business. It's important to have my book up there.

Kobo: Not as much to fill out as the previous two, but I didn't like the way it was set up. They also did not have paranormal or paranormal romance listed as a genre. I had to call it contemporary romance. That's not a proper description of it, but they didn't give any other options that were close to my genre.

Createspace: It took the longest to work with, but it was easy enough to do. They have an easy to navigate system set up for reviewing your interior and creating a cover. It'll be very cool to have a print copy of the story. I know what I'm getting everyone for Christmas this year! I'm having a few problems with them that I don't understand about ISBNs, and I hope is just an error on their part. The keep replying to me with the same email over and over. I need to call them, but the book is up and for sale.

A reminder about the "What was your childhood monster?" blogfest. Still lots of time to sign up and share with us what scared you as a kid!
