I've been waiting a while to get my hands on GAMEBOARD OF THE GODS by Richelle Mead, and it hasn't disappointed me. In fact, it's fast becoming one of my favorite books of all time. Yes, it's that amazing. Exceptional worldbuilding and characterization. A futuristic dark fantasy with a beautiful and slowly unfurling supernatural aspect.
Here's your teaser:
A haughty, lethal bodyguard. An assignment involving shadowy phantoms. This homecoming was starting to accrue a hefty price tag.
You still want to pay it? asked Horatio.
Absolutely. (page 61)

Don't forget to enter THE GHOST giveaway for a chance to win all of the books in my 13th Floor series!

I love Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series. Succubus Blues is the first book in the Georgina Kincaid series, adult paranormal romance. The first page made me laugh. Great start. You have to love a reluctant succubus!
Here's your teaser:
Sleep with Seth Mortensen? Good grief. It was the most preposterous thing I'd ever heard. It was appalling. If I absorbed his life force, there was no telling how long it'd be until his next book came out. (page 25)

You know I loved the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. Bloodlines is a spin-off with Sydney the Alchemist. I loved her character and I hope she'll be just as great in this book.

Here's your teaser:
Her features were just barely discernible in the early light. She lay there, eyes wide open and staring off into nothingness, a haunted look on her face. (page 159)

I'm still reading the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. I love it! Blood Promise is the fourth book. I'm almost done it. Does anyone have any other recommendations for a good YA paranormal romance?

My teaser:
Nope. Red eyes and a hard expression looked back at me. My hopes shattered. (page 310)

I finally picked up Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series. Yes, I know I'm a little behind, but I borrowed them all from the library on the weekend. I was a little uncertain about the series at first. I hoped it wasn't some vampire take on Hogwarts, but it surprised me. It's original and well written. I'm usually annoyed by teenage protagonists, but Rose is awesome. This series makes me want to delve more into YA paranormal romances.

 My teaser:
But as she went inside, I could feel that she wasn't there to pray. She had another purpose, one that I didn't know about. (page 57)
