Working on a blogging schedule

That's my boy lost in thought. He's a deep thinker just like his mama. Actually, he was wondering why the boys playing basketball didn't pull their pants up all the way, but hey, that's still a deep thought.

I need to stop thinking about organizing my free time and get organized. What little I have left, that is. This means I need to get myself on a regular blogging schedule.

Mondays: this will be my give back day. I'll post reviews, promotions, giveaways, and guest posts. The third Monday of every month is the W4WS event. I believe it's important to give back to our community, and I'm so glad to see so much support and generosity this year.

Tuesdays: Teaser Tuesdays. This is a quick post to write and read. I'm always curious as to what everyone is reading. It's my way of peeking over shoulders and seeing what books you're interested in.

Wednesdays: First Wednesday of every month is the IWSG. The other ones will be my Wicked Wednesdays. Paranormal romance is my genre, and I love to talk about it.

Fridays: Friday Five. An update on my writing and other interesting things in my life.

Of course, for any special news, blogfests, and tours, I'll be changing the schedule. Don't forget my blog tour for THE ORACLE & THE VAMPIRE starts on Monday. I'll be having a huge giveaway!

Four days a week. That's very reasonable. I'm telling myself to be okay with setting a schedule. It'll be very good for me, and readers like to know what to expect on blogs.

Do you have a blogging schedule? Does it help your time management?

  1. I think it's smart of you to develop a blogging schedule like this. Except for my Weekly Webcomic Updates, I pretty much just post whenever the mood strikes me, which can make it way too easy for me to neglect my blog sometimes. Good luck keeping up with this schedule! And oh, the blog tour starts this Monday?! Can't wait!

  2. I'm much the same as Heather, posting when I can which means sometimes it's neglected.
I'm beginning to think about my own blog schedule, which I'm hoping to implement soon. It's on my to-do list.

  3. Funny, I was just thinking about this myself! I've never been much of a scheduled poster, I just write something whenever I have something to say. A schedule would probably make things a lot easier!

  4. Giving back is so important.
That sounds like a good schedule. I don't have set themes (outside of the IWSG and movie preview) but I do like my M-W-F schedule. Gives me a day in between to breathe.

  5. I tried schedules but don't really like them. As my blog has morphed I'm much more reader-conscious and much more aware of what I want to project. If I do one intense, wordy post, I try to keep the next one easier to skim. Two days a week, for the most part, is good for me. I figure blog readers are busy!

Sounds like you're doing much the same kind of thinking as your blog grows too. Nice schedule.

  6. Thank you all for stopping by. I'm hoping that having a schedule will save me time, and people are busy. I need to get past the urge to blog every weekday. It's not as if I'll disappear if I don't. I hope!

  7. I've been thinking about doing the same thing. Lately I feel like I'm not spending enough time working on my poetry and fiction, so a blogging schedule may be just what I need to free up some writing time. Maybe. I need to do more of that pondering your son is doing. :)

  8. I should really set up some sort of schedule. Even if it was Wed, Fri, Sun kind of schedule. (Those are non-hair wash days)

  9. Good idea for a schedule. I do three times per week except for special things.

  10. As you probably already figured out, I'm a stickler for being organized and having schedules. :D I think it does help.

  11. Hi Christine,

What a fine looking young boy you have. He does indeed look like he's lost in thought. Basketball players play in their underwear. Right?

Oh my, personally, I would never have a blogging schedule. I just write, or Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar writes, when the mood happens.

I understand what you mean. However, I think whoever reads my site can expect the unexpected. Keep them guessing works for me.

    Be well, Christine.

  12. I think a blogging schedule is great as it gives you a self imposed deadline to, actually, do some blogging :)

The best part about it being self imposed is that it can be as flexible as you need it to be.

I've had one since January and it's worked pretty well for me, so far.

  13. I don't have a blogging schedule but I really need one. I also need to get more organised in a whole host of area's. It seems whenever I come online I just end up getting distracted. lol.
    Something to work on.

  15. Your schedule sounds great. I totally have to get organized too. I'm so behind on everything and part of it is simply lack of being organized. Going on vacation didn't help either, but we won't mention that... (;

  16. ...also, love the pic of your son. He's such a cutie. (=

  17. I have two blogs and right now I just post whenever. I've tried setting schedules for my blogs and never stick to them.

  18. Sounds like a very reasonable schedule. Post challenge is the first time I am attempting one, but it is not quite as defined as yours - Sun or Mon, Wordless Wednesday and Friday.
