ReplyDeleteDoctor Sleep was a superb book. Extremely dark, even for King.

I've thought about picking up that book but King's last few have disappointed me like he's telling the same stories over and over again.

ReplyDeleteLove the teaser. It's like the page 69 test, where you turn to that page and read the first para. If you like it, buy the book; if not, put it back.
ReplyDeleteI was really looking forward to this book, since there were so many positive reviews about it. However, I was disappointed so far and have put it down as I read other things. None of the characters are likeable, so I don't care if they live or die. (I haven't read far enough to be introduced to Abra, who I guess is the only sympathetic character in the book. I had high hopes for King's son's books too, but so far have a DNF for The Heart-Shaped Box for the same reason I don't like some of King's books - unlikeable characters.)
