Today I'm talking about something important to every writer: reviews. Why are reviews so important? And how do you write one?

In the back of the Collection, I ask readers to leave a review. I'm curious as to how many other authors do the same thing. Please let me know your feelings about this.
Because I'm an author, I will only leave reviews of the stories I love. There may be one or two exceptions, but it's rare.

I think it's a great idea to ask readers to leave a review. If the reader has actually managed to read to the end of the book then there must be something good to be said about it.

I saw your review request, and thought it was a good idea. I've seen a couple of other authors do the same thing. I think when a reader sees that they may be more likely to leave a review - perhaps it just wouldn't occur to some people to leave one.

ReplyDeleteA bit of encouragement doesn't hurt. I think some readers may be intimidated about writing an eloquent review - I struggle with it myself - but just a line saying what was awesome about it would do, I think!
