1) I haven't done a Friday Five in so long. I still have a bit of an A to Z hangover. It was a great month, but boy, does that take a lot out of you. My A to Z Challenge Reflections post will be on Monday.
2) I've been working very hard on my revisions for THE ORACLE & THE VAMPIRE. This book has been a roller coaster ride. I didn't think I'd have it done on time, but don't worry! Thanks to my fabulous CPs and beta readers, I will have it ready for the 13th. My blog tour schedule is set. The cover reveal for the final book in the series will be on May 17th. Be prepared for a big surprise!
3) May is going to be a tremendously busy month for me. I have something going on every weekend and way too much during the weeks. I'll be easing back on the blogging except during the tour. Once the tour is over, I need to find a good balance between writing and networking. I'm losing an hour or two a day since my son only naps two or three times a week now. It's time I set a schedule that allows me to do everything I need to do even if it isn't as much as I want to. Not only must I find the balance, I need to allow myself to feel okay about it.
4) My son only has three more weeks of preschool left before his summer break. It was looming over me, wondering what to do with him, but I've planned several activities. At least one a week. Then there are play dates and lounging in his new big pool at home. Plus we'll be visiting my family in Canada for a week in June. It'll go quickly. I need to get as organized with my writing time as I am for stuff with my kid!
5) I'm still thinking on what I'll do after I finish the 13th Floor series. There are a lot of possibilities. I'm still giving serious consideration to revising an old manuscript and querying it. Yet more and more, it seems self-publishing is what is still best for me.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I have to agree that self publishing might be the thing for you. You have the professional covers, the polished writing, and you already know how to get your stories out there. It's a win!
ReplyDeleteOoh, a cover reveal on the 17th and a big surprise?! Exciting! *bounces in anticipation*
ReplyDeleteAnyway, good luck keeping up with everything in May! It can definitely be tricky trying to find the perfect balance between writing and networking, but I'm sure you'll figure out a way to pull it off!
Also, if self-publishing feels right to you, then I say continue on doing it. You've been able to make it work for you so far, after all, so why not? :)
My May is really busy as well. Not sure how that happened.
ReplyDeleteYou'll find a way to balance it.
Looking forward to hosting you in a couple weeks!
It's always more difficult to plan time when the little ones are around but it sounds like a great summer ahead.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I have an A-Z Hangover too!!
ReplyDeleteYou do have a lot going on, but how exciting! All the best to you and enjoy having that little one around.
ReplyDeleteIt's exciting to have a lot going on: it keeps you busy.

Scheduling in the writing is a good idea. You have a lot going on, but I'm sure everything will work out. And we're right on schedule for The Oracle and the Vampire to come out soon. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read The Oracle & The Vampire! :)
ReplyDeleteI think much of the blogosphere is experiencing a Challenge hangover.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your revisions!
i haven't visited your blog in a long time - seems like you've been super busy only about to get busier! I can't wait to read what fun stuff you have planned for your son this summer! i'm sure it's great stuff!
ReplyDeleteYour rate of work is so fast, I don't think you'd handle the slower pace of traditional publishing. Have a great summer!
ReplyDeleteThank you, everyone! Hope you're having a great Friday. :)
ReplyDeleteChristine, it's always hard to find the balance, and feel okay about it. It's a daily struggle, but worth the effort. Have an awesome weekend.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you'll be busy for a while from now on.
ReplyDeleteAs for querying or not querying, I'm sure you'll figure out what's best for you once you get there.
:-)
I thought April was busy with AtoZ, but I am also facing a very busy May. I haven't seen the Friday Five before, I like the format.
