Teaser Tuesday with Fallen

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I know I'm a little late catching up with all the great books of last year. There's just so many to read and so little time! Fallen by Lauren Kate turned up on many people's Favorites of 2011 list. The cover itself has drawn me in, but I haven't fallen for the story yet.
Here's your teaser:
She would not cry in front of any of these horrible people. She swallowed hard, got to her feet, and took off. (page 56)

    1. I chose it because of the cover too! Also because so many people named it one of their favorite books from last year. It will not be on my list of favorites however.

  4. I really enjoyed this book. I've read the first three in the series, and they're all equally good. The second, Torment, is my favourite. Great teaser!

Feel free to check out my teaser here.

    1. Thanks for stopping by! The teen voice didn't quite capture me in this book even if the plot was interesting.

    1. Thanks! It's not high on my recommendation list. If you want one of this type, Paranormalcy was much better!

    1. I could tell you, but then you'd fall into that gigantic hole in the plot with her. =P

  9. Oooh! Definitely a teaser. I'll have to do this with the book I'm currently reading. P.S. Have you gotten my emails about the giveaway, Christine? Could you please let me know your choices and send me a mailing address by end of day tomorrow? I've got a few other people waiting to make their choices too. Thank you! :)

  10. Cool teaser... I've read the first two books in this series - Fallen and Torment... not bad, but I can't finish book 3 - it's so slow and boring.
