I'm going to start with just one day. I don't want to jump in and create a theme for every day. I can't make that type of commitment for seven days in a week. Sometimes I just want to rant about different things or participate in other people's blogfests. One day is a good start. One day to test the waters and see how it works out. I'm also curious as to what you think about themed days. Do they help you as readers? Do you do themed days? If you do, what sort of response have you gotten from them?
Wicked Wednesday is going to be about the paranormal romance genre. I'll write about books, authors, my writing, trends, etc. I decided this would be the best choice of a theme for me because it is my genre. I can share my experiences and knowledge, and hopefully learn new things from my readers and research as well.
I'll start the first official Wicked Wednesday next week. Same
*Bat fits the genre in a way. Maybe I should have left it!
*grins* I like bat. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd, I think it's great to talk about paranormal romance and what you write and such. I do typically use theme days so I'll have something to write. Perhaps my OCD likes me to keep things organized. *laughs*
Christine, I love the sound of Wicked Wednesdays! I hope your back gets to feeling better and I sure do love kids. :)
ReplyDeletePersonally, I feel that writers love to hear anything that would help them move further along in their careers--the dirt on you and how you got published, or secrets or helpful advice and stuff. :)

Can Alex save Winter from the darkness that hunts her?
YA Paranormal Romance, Darkspell coming fall of 2011!
I don't follow a set theme, but I do have certain topics I blog about over and over. How they play out during the week varies. I post 3x a week, and blogfests and being in FantasticFridayWriters helps. FFW gives me a topic to blog on every other Friday. Then I blog at Wicked Writers every other Thursday. So, that's coming to be my 3rd post. Was #4, but now I'm going to pare that down to #3.
ReplyDeleteThemes can help you come up with topics.
Thanks everyone for commenting. It does help to have a theme to come up with something to write. And, Elizabeth, I agree with you there. Posts that help writers move along in their careers are definitely ones I read.
ReplyDeleteI'm not good at themes though I do have Riddle Fridays during the fall and spring semesters.
ReplyDeleteWicked Wednesday sound cool. I've been playing with options and have discovered that most blog readers prefer it short and simple...and pictures are always an added plus. :)
ReplyDeleteLaila, I've noticed that too. I have to try to keep myself from being long-winded!
