Teaser Tuesday with Vampire Academy

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I finally picked up Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series. Yes, I know I'm a little behind, but I borrowed them all from the library on the weekend. I was a little uncertain about the series at first. I hoped it wasn't some vampire take on Hogwarts, but it surprised me. It's original and well written. I'm usually annoyed by teenage protagonists, but Rose is awesome. This series makes me want to delve more into YA paranormal romances.

 My teaser:
But as she went inside, I could feel that she wasn't there to pray. She had another purpose, one that I didn't know about. (page 57)

  1. Excellent series. The third book really nailed it for me. Until then, I was a little 'iffy' about VA. But after Shadow Kissed, OMGosh!!!! I was hooked.

  6. Oh, I enjoyed the Vampire Academy, but I stopped reading it after the first book or two because my sister told me what happens. I didn't want it to happen, so so far, I've paused the books until I'm ready to read. I loved the first book though. Read it in one sitting--or reclining since I lay in bed reading it until morning.

  10. Cherie, I can't believe your sister told you what happened! Spoilers don't deter me, but I know how they can affect some people. Now I'm curious as to what happens that you didn't want to happen!
