Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Your teaser:
"I'm going to tell you something important. Grown-ups don't look like grown-ups on the inside either. Outside, they're big and thoughtless and they always know what they're doing. Inside, they look just like they always have. Like they did when they were your age. The truth is, there aren't any grown-ups. Not one, in the whole wide world." (page 112)
Sounds like an interesting book, a bit of Peter Pan reality.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the teaser. I really liked his Graveyard Book. I'll have to check this out.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great teaser! I'll have to check this book out.
ReplyDeleteI agree! LOL. Awesome teaser.
ReplyDeleteOoh, that is such a great teaser. I'm not surprised you're enjoying this book so much, since everyone seems to be praising it! I've only read one Neil Gaiman book before (Neverwhere), but now I'm thinking I should check out more...
ReplyDeleteOoh thanks for sharing the teaser! This looks like one I'll be picking up soon! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quote! And I think it's very true, too. Thanks for sharing. :-)
ReplyDeleteCool! That sounds real interesting. A world with out any grown-ups.
ReplyDeleteA magical notation, Christine.
Gary :)
Love his stories and this teaser is awesome...:)
ReplyDeleteThank you, everyone. It was an awesome book. A must read!
ReplyDeleteFirst, I have to wholeheartedly agree with the teaser - and I should know, I pretend to be an adult in real life! :-)
ReplyDeleteSecond, I'm slowly getting to know Gaiman's work. I read Good Omens AGES ago, and more recently, American Gods. Have added Neverwhere to my "To Be Read" stack, and now feel pretty confident I'll be adding this book as well. Thanks, Christine!
