Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Here's your teaser:
There was talk of shadowy madmen. Of foreign spies.
There was even talk of vampires. (page 23)
I have some extra good news for you!
Stephen Tremp is giving away his newest novel, Breakthrough: The Adventures of Chase Manhattan for FREE! It's the first book in the Chase Manhattan sci-fi thriller series, and it promises to start with a bang! Click here to get your Kindle copy on Amazon. Did I mention it's free?!
Also, a wonderful short story anthology, Ocean Stories, is now available on Amazon and B&N. My horror story, "A Ticket on the Train" is one of the great tales in it. The editor is giving away five copies on Goodreads. Click here to sign up to win!
I snagged Tremp's book about 30 minutes ago and am looking forward to reading it when I fly back to the U.S. in a couple of weeks.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in the book store the other day I almost bought "Abe" biught got "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" and Adams' other 4 books all wrapped up in one for a mere 50" of the cover price. In short, I paid $8 for 5 novels. Sweet.
Yeah, I am waiting on the movie and will likely forget about the book for now.
Thanks for the warning! lol
That's a very sweet deal! I love Adams.
DeleteHaving finished the book, I say definitely wait for the movie. I think it will be far better.
I'm on the last chapter of this book and can't wait to see the movie!
ReplyDeleteI think that I like the concept of this book better than the execution. I agree that it will probably make an interesting movie. My teaser is from Fairest of All by Sarah Mylnowski. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI keep seeing trailers for the movie of this, but I think I may wait till after I've seen that before trying to read the book. There's nothing worse than a dry book.
ReplyDeleteMy teaser is here if you'd like a look :)
Intriguing...thanks for sharing, and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHere's MY TUESDAY MEMES POST
that book/movie gets an eye roll every time i hear the title!
ReplyDeleteso silly!
and i awarded you. again =)
i wonder if it will come out the same time as "the lincoln movie"
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of intrigued by the sound of Abe Lincoln fighting vampires. It's so absurd, it's fascinating. I gotta see how this works. :)
ReplyDeletei liked this book. it was a fun quick read. i got bored around the war stuff. the movie should be fun!
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser! I’ll have to check this one out – thank you for sharing! :)

I haven't read the book but I do think the movie looks like fun.
ReplyDeleteI'd never heard of that book, but I have to say that the cover cracks me up for some reason. (I'm probably just weird...) :)
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see this, may have to get the book too.

Thanks for popping by, folks! The books was okay, but I skimmed parts. I still think the movie will be far better.
ReplyDeleteTrying to work my soggy brain through ALVH before the movie comes out. Not near as good as Pride & Prejudice and Zombies.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the anthology. WOW!
Looking forward to the movie, not really interested in the book. Glad to know I'm not really missing out on anything. And congrats! The anthology sounds awesome.
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser! It looks like a good book, but I think the movie might be better.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the anthology coming out! I already picked up a copy of Stephen's book.
I started reading the book and thought the same thing--I never actually got around to finishing it. I found Grahame-Smith's Pride and Prejudice and Zombies to be a lot more interesting.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the anthology. :)
I can't decide if I'd like this or not! It should be really funny; but if it isn't, then why would I want to read it?
ReplyDeleteMy teaser is from Perigee Moon.
If it was funny, I think I would have enjoyed it more. But it was written as a history.
DeleteI haven't read the book, but the movie trailer is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI've heard a lot about that book but I don't think it is something I would like. I did download Stephen's book though and I am hoping to read that one soon. :)
ReplyDeleteThis one always catches my eye, but I haven't picked it up yet.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the movie for this book:) I know, how lazy of me...hehe. Huge congrats on your story coming out... going to check it out now.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great teaser, Christine! I absolutely want to see the movie and decided to do that before reading the book...and then maybe reading a Lincoln bio, to see how much of his reality exists in either. :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the anthology!
